Lagardère brokers eSports tie-up for Super Evil Megacorp
Lagardère Sports, the international sports marketing agency, has been active once again within the eSports sector by brokering a deal between Super Evil Megacorp, the video game publisher, and Mogul Arena, an eSports tournament organisation platform.
Mogul Arena becomes the exclusive platform provider of SEM’s 2017 Vainglory World Championship, based on the publisher's popular mobile video game.
The championship is taking place at the Kallang Theatre, in Singapore from 14 to 17 December.
The deal will also include a social media activation campaign for Mogul throughout the tournament.
The event will be live-streamed across Vainglory’s online channels including Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.
Gernot Abl, managing director of Esports Mogul, said: “The agreement with Super Evil Megacorp represents a major opportunity to grow the awareness and uptake of our world class Mogul Arena Tournament Platform for mobile eSport. We are dedicated to providing our players and corporate partners with the best experience possible, and The Vainglory World Championship allows us to do exactly that.”
Over the past 12 months, Lagardère has expanded its eSports portfolio since it initially made eSports team Unicorns of Love its first client in the sector.
The agency is the exclusive marketing partner of Team Roccat, the Germany-based electronic gaming organisation, and is also working with fellow German outfit SK Gaming and US-based Splyce.
In October, Lagardère signed an exclusive worldwide deal with RFRSH Entertainment to represent the media rights for a new global eSports tournament series, Counter-Strike (CS:GO) BLAST Pro Series.
