Alli snapped up by CAA Sports
CAA Sports, the sports arm of the US talent agency Creative Artists Agency, has signed young England soccer star Dele Alli for commercial representation.
The 21-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will be looked after by a team led by Matthew O’Donohoe, who will work with Alli's manager and childhood friend Harry Hickford, to enhance the player's commercial portfolio globally.
There had been strong competition for the signature of Alli, who is coming to the end of his current player representation contract with British agent Rob Segal.
Alli joins four-time Fifa World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo, Tottenham and England teammate Harry Kane and leading managers José Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti in the CAA Sports stable.
O’Donohoe said: “Dele is one of the most exciting players in the world presently, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him at this pivotal moment in his career, helping to accomplish his personal and professional goals.”
Alli already has deals with German sportswear giant Adidas and BT Sport, the UK pay-TV broadcaster, and CAA will be hoping that a strong performance at the 2018 World Cup in Russia will boost his profile further.
