Valhalla awarded fourth PGA Championship
The Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky has been chosen to host the US PGA Championship in 2024.
The course, which opened in 1986, has hosted the major tournament on three occasions, in 1996, 2000 and 2014, and staged the Ryder Cup in 2008.
Earlier this week, the PGA of America named Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania as the venue for the 2027 US PGA Championship, as well as the 2020 women’s edition.
The latest award means that hosts are now place for nine of the next 11 PGA Championships, the exceptions being 2025 and 2026.
The tournament is moving from its traditional slot in August to new dates in May in 2019, in large part to avoid clashing with future Olympic Games.
Next year’s US PGA Championship takes place at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri from 9 to 12 August.
