Telemundo picks up rights to Club World Cup
Telemundo Deportes, the US Spanish-language sports broadcaster owned by NBCUniversal, is to show next month’s Fifa Club World Cup after landing rights to the tournament being held in the United Arab Emirates.
The broadcaster has exclusive US Spanish-language rights to the competition for the next two years.
The event will air live on Telemundo, Universo, the digital, cable and satellite network, and the Telemuno Deportes streaming app
The Club World Cup, the next edition of which begins on 6 December, involves the champion clubs of each continent, including Spanish giants Real Madrid, and culminates with the final in Abu Dhabi on 16 December.
Telemundo also holds rights to the next three editions of the World Cup, starting with the 2018 tournament in Russia.
