MMA's Combate Americas hires Pine to boost revenues
Combate Americas, a Mixed Martial Arts fight series, has appointed Mike Pine, the experienced sports industry executive, as its first chief revenue officer.
Pine spent the last two and a half years as general manager, integrated partnerships for FanDuel, the daily fantasy sports betting platform.
He has also worked at MMA's Ultimate Fighting Championship, World Wrestling Entertainment, the IMG agency, Ironman and US broadcaster Turner.
At Combate Americas, Pine reports into chief executive Campbell McLaren, also formerly of UFC, who said: “We are thrilled to welcome Mike Pine, an authentic trailblazer in the world of sports and entertainment brand partnerships, to Combate Americas,.
“Mike’s incredible track record and extensive book of high-level relationships with marketers from worldwide, renowned brands across a wide range of product categories, speak for themselves, and we are looking forward to having him spearheading our sales efforts as we continue to aggressively expand our footprint across the globe with a fast-growing schedule of live and special events, and television programming for 2018 and beyond.”
Pine will be responsible for building Combate Americas’ portfolio of sponsor partners which, to date, has included the US Army, Aspira A Mas, a Hispanic consumer-targeted offshoot of health insurance industry giant IHC, and consumer electronics firm Altec Lansing.
