MLS lands its first wine sponsor in Trivento deal
North American soccer’s MLS has its first wine sponsor after agreeing a multi-year deal with Trivento, the Argentina-based wine brand.
Trivento becomes the official wine of MLS in an agreement which comes into effect in January 2018 and runs until 2020.
The deal includes MLS-branded packaging on Trivento’s wines and access to MLS post-season matches and hospitality.
Carter Ladd, vice-president of business development for Soccer United Marketing, the league’s commercial arm, commented: “MLS continues to afford brands access to a unique, engaged audience in North America, which enables new partners like Trivento to grow market share in the world’s most competitive retail environment. We’re excited that a great, global brand like Trivento is joining our family of corporate partners at the MLS table.”
Trivento was a sponsor of England rugby union's top-tier Premiership Rugby from 2014 until the end of the 2016-17 season.
