Priego elected IWWF president as Ritschard steps down after 16 years
Mexico’s José Antonio Pérez Priego has been elected president of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation after Kuno Ritschard stepped down from the role after 16 years in charge.
At its congress in Paris, the IWWF “overwhelmingly” elected Priego over France’s Alain Amade.
The federation said it was the beginning of a “new era” for the sport as the IWWF has a new president for the first time since 2001.
The IWWF has a long-term ambition for waterskiing and wakeboarding to join the programme of the Olympic Games.
