Vikersund in Norway has submitted a bid to host the Ski Flying World Championship, FIS, skiing’s international governing body has announced.
Vikersund is the only city to register a bid for the competition, which is traditionally staged on a rotational basis between five different European venues.
It has previously hosted the event in 1997, 1990, 2000 and 2012.
Oberstdorf in Germany will host next year’s championship, while Planica, Slovenia is to stage the 2020 edition.
Harrachov in Czech Republic, and Tauplitz and Bad Mitterndorf, Germany are the two other venues which regularly host the event.
