Julius Baer prolongs commitment to Formula E until 2021
Julius Baer, the Switzerland-based private banking group, has extended its sponsorship of electric motor racing series Formula E until the end of the 2020-21 season.
Under the renewal, Julius Baer is to continue as a global partner of Formula E, having been a partner since the inaugural season of 2014-15.
The company's involvement has also included title sponsorship of the Mexico ePrix.
Alejandro Agag, founder and chief executive of Formula E, said: “I’m extremely happy to see Julius Baer extend their partnership with Formula E. They have been involved in the series since before the first-ever race took place, and it’s fantastic news that they’ll remain part of the Formula E family until at least the end of the 2020/21 season. To extend the partnership with over two years left prior to the renewal shows commitment to the concept of Formula E.”
Earlier this month, Qatar Airways, the national airline of the Gulf state, was revealed as a sponsor of the Paris and New York races in the current Formula E season.
The company has acquired title sponsorship rights to the Paris ePrix, which takes place on 20 May. It will also be the official airline partner of the Paris race and of the inaugural New York City ePrix in Brooklyn on 15 and 16 July.
The fifth round of the Formula E season takes place in Monaco on 13 May.
