USTA appoints Aramark to manage US Open merchandising

The United States Tennis Association, the domestic governing body, has granted USA-based services management company Aramark, merchandising rights for its national facility and the US Open ‘grand slam’ tournament.
Through the ‘multi-year’ agreement, Aramark is to manage all aspects of the US Open’s retail sales and merchandising operations within the grounds of Flushing Meadows in Queens, New York.
The two parties have said they will work together to renovate the grounds’ existing retail stores, as well as creating more accessible and technologically proficient shopping areas.
Aramark’s previous retail management tie-ups have included American football’s showpiece Super Bowl, and the All-Star games from North America’s MLB, NBA and NHL.
The 2017 US Open takes place from 28 August to 10 September
