Alliance MMA acquires fighter management company SuckerPunch
Alliance MMA, the Nasdaq-listed, USA-based mixed martial arts organisation for aspiring fighters, has acquired SuckerPunch Entertainment, the MMA fighter management and marketing company.
SuckerPunch, which has more than 100 fighters under contract worldwide, will operate under the Alliance MMA umbrella.
Robert Haydak, president of Alliance MMA, said SuckerPunch’s experience in managing a number of the sport’s top fighters “will bolster our ongoing effort to expand the growing family of Alliance athletes, and will fortify Alliance’s position as a prominent force in the MMA community.”
In recent months, Alliance MMA has acquired five MMA promotion companies, a digital media sports platform, and an electronic ticking platform, and said the addition of SuckerPunch continues that trend of buying businesses “whose operations are directly related to the company’s regional fight promotions.”
Bryan Hamper, SuckerPunch partner, said. “Our up-and-coming prospects will now have direct access to geographically diverse venues which promises broader exposure as they develop their skills and our higher-level fighters will now have the opportunity to compete in top tier promotions more quickly.”
