Two Way TV in Rugby League World Cup Link-up
Fans glued to the 30 televised matches in this year's Rugby League World Cup and who have digital cable can test their knowledge and win prizes with interactive entertainment channel Two Way TV.
Two Way TV is available across the UK with many of its digital cable homes in Rugby League heartlands. The tie-up with the international tournament, which starts on October 28th with Ireland versus Samoa, will mean viewers can also play interactive games with a Rugby League theme. Two Way TV game-players can win tickets to the games as well as Rugby League World Cup merchandise.
Two Way TV games such as 'Two Way Triv Sports' and 'Puzzled' will carry the Rugby League World Cup brand and will quiz viewers on the action and how all the teams are progressing. The World Cup final will be staged at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground on November 25th.
Matthew Tims, Two Way TV Managing Director, says: 'Rugby League fans who have the Two Way TV channel have the chance to test their knowledge of the sport as the world's best players literally get to grips with each other. Sport is a popular ingredient across all our games and a topical high profile event such as this will undoubtedly boost demand.'
Neal Coupland, RFL Media and Marketing Director, adds: 'This years tournament is the biggest Rugby League World Cup yet. It is great to tie in the sport with TV games that appeal to such a diverse audience and allow fans to compete with friends, family and viewers from around the country.'
Two Way TV is currently pursuing interactive sports rights to synchronise games with live sporting action. This enables players to out-predict their fellow viewers by judging what's going to happen next as they follow the flow of live matches, races and events.
