The 2010 Ryder Cup Appoints Mike Burton as an Official Hospitality Agent

Mike Burton, the leading sports hospitality, travel and management company, has been appointed as an Official Hospitality Agent to The 2010 Ryder Cup at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.

The Official Hospitality Agent appointment to The 2010 Ryder Cup will see the Mike Burton business sell a wide range of hospitality products throughout the world.

The Official Hospitality Agent contract provides the Mike Burton business with the full range of hospitality products and global sales rights.

The Ryder Cup appointment builds on the recently announced five year extension to its RFU official licensed hospitality contract at Twickenham. Mike Burton was an Official Hospitality Agent of Rugby World Cup 2007 and also operates exclusively at the market-leading Wimbledon Club at the annual Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
 
The Mike Burton Group was appointed by the International Rugby Board (IRB), together with its joint venture partner, Sodexo, to create, manage and implement the global travel and hospitality programme for Rugby World Cup 2007 in France, which was the most successful Rugby World Cup to date, and in December last year it was re-appointed by the IRB for Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand.
 
The British & Irish Lions appointed the Mike Burton Group to exclusively manage the Official Licensed Operator programme for the 2009 Lions tour to South Africa.
 
England Rugby Travel, a joint venture between the RFU and Mike Burton, also operates out of the company’s UK head office and managed more than 14,000 tickets at Rugby World Cup 2007 as an Official Travel Agent, and it is an Official Licensed Operator for the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa in 2009.
