Scottish Rugby Gains Support from Scottish Land Rover Dealers
The Scotland Rugby Supporters' Club (SRSC) is delighted to announce that Scottish Land Rover dealers have become title sponsors of the SRSC and official partners of Scottish Rugby.
As part of the deal, Scottish Land Rover dealers will provide the SRSC with two vehicles to be used in a variety of club promotional activities and with the development of the game at the grassroots level.
David James, SRU sponsorship manager, said: 'From our earliest discussions, it became clear that there was an obvious link between Scottish Rugby and Land Rover. Scottish Land Rover Dealers have displayed a real enthusiasm for getting involved with the grassroots of the sport, and the two year deal is worth more than £100,000 to the Supporters' Club. In short, this is a deal which will benefit all those involved in the game, but in particular our most valued asset, the diehard fans.'
Jim Hay, SRSC manager, said: 'It's a great boost for the Scotland Rugby Supporters' Club to have support from such a prestigious and recognizable name as Land Rover. I'm looking forward to working with the Scottish Land Rover dealers and I'm sure that rugby in Scotland and our members will benefit from this new partnership.'
Stephen Jay, Regional Business Manager - Scotland, speaking on behalf of the dealer network, said: 'This relationship between the Scottish Land Rover dealers and the Scotland Rugby Supporters' Club underlines our ongoing commitment to rugby union and, in particular, our efforts to support and develop the game in Scotland'.
'The vehicles supplied by the Scottish dealers will help the SRSC to continue to take the game to the people who matter most - the supporters.'
Land Rover has had an involvement with rugby over the past few years including the 2001 Lions Tour of Australia and sponsorship of the game in England.
