Saracens Sign Sponsorship Deal with Saab

Rugby union - 22 Nov 2004

Saracens, one of the top English Premiership rugby clubs, have announced a sponsorship agreement with Saab Great Britain Ltd – one of the UK’s leading car manufacturers.

As part of the agreement, Saab will become the club’s shirt sleeve sponsor.

Saracens Chief Executive Mark Sinderberry said: 'We’re delighted to welcome Saab Great Britain to the group of internationally renowned brands who have teamed up with Saracens as we strive to become one of the leading clubs in Europe.'

Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, Saab Great Britain has 90 franchised dealers, each offering technical and after-sales support, as well as a full range of business and specialist training.

Saab Great Britain Limited is part of Saab Automobile AB, the Swedish executive car-maker now owned by General Motors. It looks after the importation, distribution and marketing of all new Saabs in the UK market.

Jonathan Nash, managing director, Saab Great Britain Ltd, said: 'Saracens are a club with their sights set firmly on reaching the top of the English premiership. Their drive and ambition reflects our own brand characteristics, so we are delighted to be associated with them and give them our support.'
