New Ball Sponsorship for National League Clubs
The Rugby Football League is delighted to announce that Kukri Sports have become the official ball supplier for National Leagues 1 and 2.
The Preston-based company have entered a two year agreement which will see them introduce their revolutionary new 'XIII Rugby League Ball'.
The new ball has a striking blue and silver colour scheme and some of the new features include.: A highly durable and amazingly sticky new 'Griptex' surface. A high tech new latex bladder ensuring pressure retention for a minimum of 6 months and the ball is also specially balanced for true flight.
The ball will be used for the first time in next weekend's Arriva Trains Cup ties.
Commenting on the agreement, Rugby Football League Marketing Director Chris Green said,
'We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Kukri Sports. Their exciting new 'XII'ball is specially designed for our sport and will help clubs play some great Rugby League in both the Arriva Trains Cup and the National Leagues when they get underway in April.
'The new design should help players and enable them to improve the handling skills which are such a major part of the game.'
Commenting on the new ball, Kukri Commercial Director Phillip Morris said,
'A Rugby League ball needs to have a great grip and we have developed a ball that is simply fantastic to grip. Our four-panel surface has taken a huge amount of research and testing and we now have a unique surface. The ball is sticky, grippy, anti-skid and highly durable,'
Morris added,
'Other developments include a high tech latex bladder that ensures that the ball will retain its full pressure for up to six months. The ball unlike traditional balls is also fully balanced ensuring that it has long and true trajectory'.
The XIII ball has a RRP of £39.95 and for further information and orders contact Mike Humble at Kukri on 01772 338899.
