MEDIApro to Produce Class 1 World Powerboat Championship

Thursday, 13 May, MILAN (Italy) - The International Offshore Team Association (I.O.T.A.), the officially sanctioned promoter and worldwide commercial rights holder of the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship has
confirmed that it has entered into an agreement with the Spanish communications group MEDIApro for 'live' and post production of this year's nine race championship.

'The production of this year's Class 1 World Powerboat Championship will be our most ambitious to date and MEDIApro will play an integral part in not only bringing a dynamic new look to the sport but also in expanding our
worldwide coverage,' said Giorgio Meszely, IOTA marketing director.

Each of this year's nine rounds of the championship which includes new events in Alicante, Spain and Mumbai, India will be produced 'live' with host broadcasters in eight of the nine countries confirmed. In addition to the live Grand Prix feed, access to news highlights will be distributed via the EBU and post production of the events will be aired in Europe via Eurosport and Sailing Channel, in the Middle East and Asia via Al Jazeerah Sport and ESPN Star and across the Americas via MEDIApro.

MEDIApro is one of the leading players in the audiovisual markets through wholly owned companies within the group or through strategic alliances with stand-out companies around the world. They have also emerged as a market
force in television rights management, controlling the worldwide international rights for the Spanish and Portuguese football leagues and are involved in golf, cycling, basketball and boxing.

This year's UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship starts in Lisbon, Portugal on Sunday, 23 May.
