Jean Todt Confirmed as Guest Speaker for AISTS Open Learning Module
Jean Todt, the president of the FIA, motor racing’s international governing body, has been confirmed in the line-up for the International Academy of Sports Science and Technology’s (AISTS) executive education programmes in sport administration and technology later this year.
Todt, the founder of Peugeot Talbot Sport and the former team principal at Ferrai, will appear as a guest speaker for the open learning module ‘Leadership and Decision Making’.
The four-day course is offered to sports industry professionals and will be held at the EPFL campus in Lausanne, Switzerland on November 25 and 26, and December 3 and 4.
Claude Stricker, executive director at AISTS, said: “There are very few people in this industry with the level of experience and knowhow in sport - both the technological and the administrative side - than Jean Todt. He is the perfect example of the message we are trying to put across, and the perfect ambassador for our programme.”
The objective of the leadership and decision making module is to develop management competencies of persons active in the sport industry, including directors of sporting organisations and federations, department heads, event managers, sponsorship heads, project managers and collaborators at the IOC and international sport federations.
The course will cover motivation and drive, charisma, interpersonal communication skills, strategy and competence, decision making and behavioural economics.
Stricker said: “There are different types of leaders in all business, some are charismatic, others transformational. To get a closer understanding of Todt’s leadership style will be fascinating.”
