International Volleyball Federation Rules on Goijman Charges

The Executive Committee of the International Volleyball Federation on Wednesday gathered here ahead of a meeting at the sport’s governing body’s headquarters on Thursday called to rule on the matter of charges against the former president of the Argentine Volleyball Federation, Mario Goijman.

Goijman is charged with serious violations in the FIVB Code of Conduct and breaches of contracts between the Argentine Federation and FIVB concerning the organization of the 2002 men’s World Championship.

Attending the meeting will be: Mr. Jean-Pierre SEPPEY, Switzerland, FIVB General Manager; Mr. Jizhong WEI, China, 1st Executive Vice-President; 10 Executive Vice-Presidents - Dr B. Sivanthi ADITYAN, India, Dr. Saleh Ahmad BIN NASSER, Saudi Arabia, Mr. Theofanis TSIOKRIS, Greece, Sr. Cristóbal MARTE HOFFIZ, Dominican Republic, Dr. Amr M. ELWANI, Egypt, Dr. Ary DA SILVA GRAÇA FILHO, Brazil, Mr. Yuri CHESNOKOV, Russia, M. Vicente Henrique GONCALVES DE ARAUJO, Portugal, M. André MEYER, Luxembourg, Mrs. Rita SUBOWO, and Member, Prof. Hiroshi TOYODA of Japan.

The remaining Executive Vice President , Mrs. Rebecca Howard, U.S.A, is unable to attend the meeting.

At the conclusion of business, the members of the Executive Committee will travel to Madrid Spain, to pay a courtesy visit to FIVB President, Dr. Rubén Acosta, who is convalescing after a recent brief illness.
