International DanceSport Federation Appoints New General Secretary
The Presidium of the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) has unanimously appointed Mr. Carlos Enrique FREITAG of Spain as new IDSF General Secretary.
The appointment was made under Article 13(7) of the IDSF Statutes, to fill the vacancy created by the sudden death on September 30, 2001 of the former General Secretary, the late Prof. Dr. Herbert Fenn of Germany.
According to the Statutes this appointment will be placed before the 2002 IDSF Annual General Meeting in Singapore on August 4th, 2002 for ratification.
Mr. Freitag pursued Graduate Studies in Germany and graduated Master of Business Administration, MBA, from the Spanish IESE Harvard School. He works in his own company in the field of Diabetes and adult incontinence.
He speaks Spanish, German, English, French and Catalan fluently, and understands Portuguese and Italian. Mr. Freitag was a DanceSport competitor for some years and during that time was at the top of the Spanish National Ranking List.
