IEC Smashes World Team Cup Extension
IEC in Sports is delighted to the extension of its high profile agreement with the ARAG World Team Cup for a further three years to the end of the 2011 ATP World Team Championship. Under the terms of the agreement, IEC will handle the worldwide media rights to the prestigious Event which takes place every year at the prolific Rochus Club in Düsseldorf.
IEC’s mandate with the ARAG World Team Cup, the official ATP World Team Championship, will now extend more than a decade with the Swedish-based Sports Marketing Company having represented the tournament globally since 2000. In 2008, IEC’s market knowledge and sales expertise helped bring the Event into viewers’ homes in more than 170 countries worldwide. IEC’s home-based Swedish Team comprising stars such as Thomas Johansson and Robin Söderling thrust Sweden to victory in a thrilling final against Russia in a closely fought contest.
2009’s Qualified Teams to date promise to send Roger Federer (and Swiss teammate Stanislaw Wawrinka) to Düsseldorf, completing a unique accomplishment for the Grand-Slam Ranked Tournament, which has the pride to have welcomed every single world number one since the start of the Event in 1978.
“We are delighted to have renewed such a major Event”, commented Jonas Persson, CEO of IEC in Sports. “The fact that we have now extended our co-operation with such a high profile tournament for more than a decade is a testament to IEC’s incredible sales expertise and knowledge of the media marketplace”, continued Persson.
Commenting on the recent signature of its extension with IEC in Sports, Dietloff von Arnim, Tournament Director of the ARAG World Team Cup said “We are very pleased to extend our co-operation with a company as loyal and committed as IEC in Sports. Throughout our partnership which now dates back to 2000, they have demonstrated a professionalism and success which is unparalleled in the history of our tournament. IEC’s hard work has helped us to grow on an international level which is important to our sponsors and to everyone involved in the ARAG World Team Cup.”
IEC in Sports represents the largest package of Men’s and Women’s Tennis in the World with more than 25 ATP Tournaments and 15 WTA Tournaments under contract, serving a customer base of more than 250 broadcast partners around the world.
