Cricket - 16 Sep 2003

The Chief Executives of the major cricket nations will address some of the key issues in the sport at the Cricket Club of India, Mumbai from 18-19 September.

The agenda for the ICC’s Cricket Committee – Management (CC-M) will include the following subjects:

  • ICC Champions Trophy in England in September 2004

  • ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh in February and March 2004

  • Suspect bowling actions process

  • Performance analysis of match officials

  • Player associations

  • The meeting will be chaired by ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed and attended by ICC President Ehsan Mani.

'I am looking forward to traveling to India for the CC-M meeting,' said Mr Mani.

'There is such passion for the cricket in India which makes it a logical place for a meeting that will focus on the business of the sport.'

CC-M is one of the ICC’s two ‘Cricket Committees’. It is composed of the Chief Executives of the ICC’s 10 Full Member countries together with three representatives from Associate Member countries. Its role is to deal with operational and management matters relating to the administration and operation of the game of cricket. It has decision-making powers on certain issues relating to the business of cricket and on other issues provides recommendations to the ICC Board.

It is complemented by Cricket Committee – Playing (CC-P) which is the body responsible for on-field issues in international cricket. CC-P is composed of former international players and officials and includes six player representatives nominated directly by current international players.
