Gymnastics Olympic update
* Trudy McIntosh [VIC/VIS], Lisa Skinner [QLD/QAS] and Allana Slater
[WA/WAIS] depart Australia on Monday 1 November for one month to compete on
the European Grand Prix Circuit [details attached].
* Ji Wallace [NSW] and Robyn Forbes [VIC] have qualified for the new
Olympic Sport of Trampoline. Selection to the 2000 Australian Olympic Team
will be at the discretion of the AOC.
* Australia has qualified 1 Individual Rhythmic Gymnast for the Olympic
Games. This Gymnast is likely to be named by the FIG in the coming week.
Selection of this Gymnast to the 2000 Australian Olympic Team will be at
the discretion of the AOC.
* Following his withdrawl from the All Around Final at the World
Championships earlier this month, Andrei Kravtsov [QLD/AIS] will undergo
shoulder on his injured surgery later this week.
* Australia qualified 2 individual places for the Men's Competition at the
Olympics. There will be two Olympic Trials held in Men's Gymnastics. The
first will held at the Sydney SuperDome in July 2000. The second will
follow the Training Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in August
2000. Selection to the 2000 Australian Olympic Team will be at the
discretion of the AOC.
* Australia qualified a full Team [6 places] for the Women's Competition
at the Olympics. There will be two Olympic Trials held in Men's Gymnastics.
The first will held at the Sydney SuperDome in July 2000. The second will
follow the Training Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in August
2000. Selection to the 2000 Australian Olympic Team will be at the
discretion of the AOC.

the 2000 Australian Olympic Team will be at the discretion of the AOC.
