Getty Images is Appointed as Official Photographic Partner to the Champions League Twenty20

Cricket - 08 Oct 2009

London – Getty Images has been appointed by Global Cricket Ventures (GCV) as the official photographic partner to The Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20). The CLT20 brings together domestic leagues from seven nations as they clash for the top spot in Twenty20 cricket. The tournament takes place in India from 8th – 23rd October and this will be the first time that domestic leagues from different nations have locked horns in a major competition. The visual content that Getty Images will be able to offer its customers from this unique event promises to be stunning.

Under the terms of the agreement, Getty Images’ photographers will undertake various photographic assignments for the CLT20 in October, including working with their commercial partners. As the official photographic agency, Getty Images will also be granted certain exclusive access to the players throughout the event. Getty Images will also manage and license the visual content, offering match action photography from at least three photographers at every game as well as exclusive imagery from other events related to the CLT20 event.

The tournament boasts some of the finest talent in world cricket including Adam Gilchrist, Virender Sehwag, Brendon McCullum, Dwayne Bravo and Ajantha Mendis. It will feature 12 teams: The Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils (India); New South Wales Blues and VB Victorian Bushrangers (Australia); Cape Cobras and Diamond Eagles (South Africa); Otago Volts (New Zealand); Wayamba (Sri Lanka); Trinidad & Tobago (West Indies) and Sussex and Somerset County Cricket Clubs (England).

Lee Martin, Senior Vice President, Sales Europe & Asia Pacific, Getty Images said: “We are thrilled to announce this exclusive partnership with the CLT20 and we are delighted to be able to offer our customers truly exceptional content from this unique collection.”

Mark Meville, President New Media, GCV, said, “We are delighted to sign this partnership with Getty Images and to have their award winning photographers covering this event for us. The high quality of images that Getty Images are renowned for will capture the excitement, drama and passion of this competition.”
