GAISF Media Forum Open To Conference Delegates
Under the general theme of “Managing media relations”, the two-hour forum will consist of and hour long panel session entitled “Producing a better sports television product”, a 45-minute Q&A period with several International Federation Media Representatives taking questions from the audience, and reports from the IOC on media plans for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino and from the International World Games Association on the upcoming World Games Duisburg later this year.
Focusing on how federations, organisers and broadcasters can work better together on sporting events both large and small, the forum will provide a variety of perspectives from governing bodies and from the media itself. The Q&A session with GAISF members’ media representatives will offer a unique opportunity for conference delegates to delve into the media requirements and expectations IFs have for their annual events, and the panel discussion on producing a better television product will enable IFs to better understand what they can do to enhance the broadcast quality of their individual sports.
Among those scheduled to participate are Josef Nehl, Managing Director of WIGE Communications; Andrew Ryan, COO of the International Badminton Federation; Dominik Schmid, Executive Director of Broadcast Operations for Infront Sports & Media, Philippe Silacci, Media & Communications Officer for the International Gymnastics Federation; Nick Davies, Communication Director for IAAF; Hermann Kewitz, Press Officer for World Games 2005; Christian Knauth, Marketing & Communications Director for FIG, Florian Wanninger, Head of Communications for FIBA; and Jay Stuart, Editorial Director for Sport Services Group.
