Aarhus / FIG Office, June 09, 2006: Over 1400 delegates from 70 nations from five continents have made a provisional registration to the 2006 World Championships in Artistic Gymnastics. 36 countries are arriving with full teams for both men and women: Australia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Poland, North Korea, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Nederland, Taiwan, Ukraine, USA, and Venezuela.
Rasmus Brandtoft, former World Championships gymnast and member of the Organizing Committee: "Everyone who is anything in gymnastics is coming. Everyone! It is great to see. I am proud to be part of this event."
Mariann Holmslykke, Managing Director of 2006 World Championships: "We have been stormed by mails from fans. They all want to come to Aarhus. We have almost sold out of season tickets, and ticket sales for the last two days of finales are going very well too".
