Executive Meeting Hockey

The Executive Board of the European Hockey Federation held its fourth and final meeting of 2005 on the 3rd and 4th December at the nhHotel Budapest, Hungary.

The President and Executive members during their stay had the opportunity of meeting with: -

Gyorgy Strausz, President, Louis Balazs, Vice President and various Board members of the Hungarian Hockey Federation.

Leandro Negre also held meetings with:

Dr. Atitila Abraham, President Hungarian Sports Federation,
Mr. Kopf Karoly, Director of Sports, Hungarian Olympic Committee.

The President and Hon. General Secretary also took the opportunity to view the various facilities that will be available for the 20th EHF General Assembly scheduled for Budapest, October 2007.

The Executive also had the opportunity of visiting Epitok Hockey Club to watch the 3rd Santa Claus Indoor Hockey Tournament where junior teams from Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Serbia & Montenegro were participating.

The main points from the Executive Board meeting were: -

·  Receive reports from Appointments, Competitions: Nations, Clubs, Indoor & Competition Projects; Development: Coaches, Umpires & Development Projects; Finance and Marketing Committees.
·  European Indoor Hockey Nations Championships, Women and Men, 20/22 January 2005, Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

It was noted that plans are well advanced for the upcoming tournament, which will be played on two new SportCourt floors. This tournament is a qualification event for the 2nd Indoor World Cup scheduled for Vienna Austria February 2007.

·  Committee Membership

Committee membership for the period through to 31st October 2007 was approved. Full committee membership is available at http://www.eurohockey.org/

·  Development

The Development Budget for 2006 was approved.

The following seminars are scheduled:

Umpires: Conductors Seminar, January 20/22, 2006, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Coaches: Youth Coaches Seminar, April 13/17, 2006, Nuremberg, Germany

Additional seminars and courses will be announced in early 2006.

·  EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup and EuroHockey Club Champions Cup

The Executive Board received a preliminary report from the working groups reviewing the concept as presented by PROSPORT, a Dutch sports marketing agency. Further meetings of the working groups will be held over the coming weeks so that a further report can be presented to the Executive Board
at its next meetings scheduled for the 11th and 12th February in Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro 2006.

The Executive Board meeting schedule for 2006 is: -

·  May 20/21 Minsk, Belarus
·  September 23/24 Madrid, Spain
·  December 9/10 Poznan, Poland
