EBU Renews Skiing World Championships Rights until 2009
On the occasion of the 2002 FIS congress in Portoroz, the International Skiing Federation (FIS) and the EBU have renewed their existing co-operation for the exploitation of the television and marketing rights covering the FIS Alpine and Nordic World Championships 1999-2005 to include sets of Skiing World Championships 2007 and 2009.
With this prolongation, an important contribution to the financial and promotional basis for the Organising Committee of Are, Sweden for the 2007 FIS Alpine World Skiing Championships and for Sapporo, Japan for the FIS Nordic World Skiing Championships could be made.
The EBU is proud that FIS has again selected the EBU as its partner. This decision will make sure that the FIS Skiing World Championships will continue to be visible free-to-air for the widest possible European Television audience.
