Designwerk go up a gear with total rebrand of SBK
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the entire SBK brand has been overhauled and rebuilt from the ground up, including the new logo and identity, racing circuit toolkits, coffee table marketing books, the way the winners podium looks, hospitality areas, sponsor integration programmes, the overall venue dressing including paddock shows (where the riders meet the press and public). It also extended to an on-air broadcast design toolkit, with titles, stings and live event graphics systems.
Designwerk creative director Cristian Cook commented “It's quite rare that a creative agency has the opportunity to conceive and implement an entire brand and its market positioning, not to mention build every conceivable deliverable, and apply them consistently, so this is a unique and prestigious project.
Even the strategy and core values of the competition have been thought through and realised. It's a testament to true collaboration and years of work with the client that this project is now being successfully rolled out”.
The international sports marketing company Infront Sports & Media, promoter of the SBK series, commissioned the rebrand following an agency pitch, which began with Designwerk organising creative workshops - educational and participative 1-day sessions on brand building – after which they developed complete brand architecture systems and identity families (multiple sub-brand logo devices). Extensive Brand Guidelines have also been created to cover all visual elements across several different media.
All this will be seen for the first time at the initial 2012 SBK round of the year, which takes place in Australia at the Phillips Island circuit on 28 February.
