The re-emergence of sport - have your say
At the turn of the year, many of us were looking forward to a breath-taking twelve months of sport, with an enviable calendar of major global sporting events lying in wait. Yet, the spread of Covid-19 soon turned those plans upside down, as the first few months of 2020 instead descended into a rollercoaster of unprecedented and unpredictable change.
A third of the world was locked down in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19 which, in turn, meant sport was put on hold. As people across the world struggled to fill the void left behind by a world without live sport, one thing became abundantly clear: it remains an essential part of our society. Now, the race is on to get sport back up and running. But how can it make its comeback in the current climate?
This week, CSM Sport and Entertainment has launched a comprehensive research study calling on the global sport business community to provide meaningful feedback on how Covid-19 has impacted the industry so far and how sport can make its resurgence. From safety, sponsors and security to hospitality and fan engagement, CSM will look to provide insights and analysis on how the industry feels about the re-emergence of sport and how they can make the steps to start this process both safely and effectively.
For clubs, stadia, venues and federations, planning is crucial in navigating the next few months. The data from CSM’s research study will provide some guidance for the industry on how they can move forwards and take steps to bring sport out of lockdown.
