A Unique Sponsorship Opportunity for a UK-Based Business
Nowhere else in the World exists an older sporting aviation trophy. It has not been seen by anyone in living memory. The solid silver Trophy (see photograph) symbolizes the bottom-half of a balloon attached to its basket. It is made of silver and stands 16" height. It cost 50 Guineas when it was made in 1906, as the 1st prize for the First Official Balloon contest in the United Kingdom.
The Trust now wishes to bring this fabulous Trophy back into use for a Flying Scholarship. The sum of £7,000 per annum, for a period of at least five years, is required to fund these scholarships.
The trophy would be awarded annually, at a prestigious award ceremony, to the young person who had won the competition of a Flying Scholarship after qualifying for their Private Pilot's Licence.
The name of the Scholarship could be linked to the name of the sponsor. The Trophy could be made available on loan to the sponsor for Marketing & PR purposes. The Trust is willing to discuss any ideas and proposals with potential sponsors.
