ICC and Booking.com partner in five-year agreement
The International Cricket Council, the sport’s world governing body, has announced a five-year global partnership with Booking.com, in which the worldwide digital travel platform becomes the ICC’s exclusive accommodations and attractions booking partner at all ICC events.
These include this summer's ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in England, which will take place between May and July this year.
Other notable events covered include the ICC Women’s and Men’s T20 World Cups in 2020 in Australia and the ICC Women’s World Cup in New Zealand in 2021.
Booking.com, which started out as a Dutch travel agency in 1996, now operates in 70 countries worldwide.
Campbell Jamieson, commercial manager at the ICC, said “Together we want to make it easier than ever for cricket fans to travel to an ICC global event and ensure more of the world can enjoy this great game.
Other ICC global partners include Nissan, OPPO, MRF Tyres, and Emirates, while each ICC event and tournament has its own individual partners and sponsors.
Booking.com is also the official accommodation partner for soccer’s Euro 2020, which is scheduled to be hosted by 12 cities across Europe.
