First Chinese sponsor for Argentina national team
Hexindai, the Chinese consumer lending company, has become a regional sponsor of Argentina’s national soccer team in an agreement brokered by China Sports Media, the Chinese sports marketing agency.
The firm, founded in 2014, becomes the first Chinese sponsor of the Argentinian Football Association and will launch various marketing campaigns in China as Argentina prepare to take part in the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Hexindai has been granted the use of the “collective image of national team players” and will enjoy brand exposure via the AFA website and the federation’s social media channels.
Earlier this year, CSM signed up Wahaha, the Chinese soft drinks brand, as the Portuguese national team’s first-ever sponsor in China.
In its role as the Portuguese national team’s exclusive commercial agent in China, CSM has also added Mentholatum, the Hong-Kong based personal care brand, and Eastroc Super Drink, the Chinese energy drink, as official regional sponsors of the national side.
Mentholatum signed a one-year sponsorship covering both China and Hong Kong.
