ELeague signs up first wireless sponsor
Boost Mobile, an Australian telecoms company, has become the first sponsor in the wireless category for ELeague, the eSports league launched last May and backed by Endeavor (formerly WME-IMG) and Turner, the US media giant.
Through the agreement, Boost Mobile’s branding is to appear across the ELeague Cup, the competition featuring the Rocket League game.
Boost will also receive exposure on TBS, Turner’s cable and satellite channel.
Seth Ladestsky, senior vice-president for Turner Sports, said: “As we continue to expand the ELEAGUE brand into new spaces and IPs, we look forward to working with leadership brands like Boost Mobile to explore new breakthrough opportunities within the sport. We are thrilled to have them on board, as they are a brand that truly resonates with the millennial esports community.”
Boost has been a sponsor of eSports before, having sponsored the MLG Pro Circuit competition in the early 2000s.
Earlier this year, it was reported that ELeague was charging around $2 million for sponsorship of its top Counter Strike: Global Offensive competition.
