The International World Games Association (IWGA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) agreed on a new Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday. IOC President Dr. Thomas Bach and President José Perurena of the IWGA signed this important agreement about mutual support during the SportAccord Convention in Lausanne. This document supersedes the previous Memorandum of Understanding dated 27 October 2000.

José Perurena, President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), has informed the participating International Federations about a change of dates for The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw / Poland. The 10th edition of this multi-sport event will now take place from 20 – 30 July 2017. With this decision, the Executive Committee of the IWGA is responding to a formal request from the Wroclaw Organizing Committee (WOC).

At the FIS Autumn Seminar in Zurich last week, with FIS President Gian Franco Kasper and FISU delegates Milan Augustin, Director for the WU, and Roger Roth, Chair CTI, in attendance, the Ski Resort of Sierra Nevada signed an important agreement providing assistance, infrastructures and formation to the Moroccan Ski Federation and the Oukaimaden Ski Resort, the main winter sport resort in the Atlas mountain range.<BR>

At the Daegu Universiade in 2003 extensive TV coverage allowed FISU to reach 700,000,000 viewers, particularly in Asia. With the arrival of the Universiades in Europe in 2005 (Innsbruck and Izmir), media coverage will be enlarged, a consequence of the efforts FISU has been making with various broadcasters.
