The EBU and the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) have reached an agreement to renew their partnership for the media rights in Europe to the FINA World Championships, and to include additional events for a further four years, from 2018 to 2021.

Lausanne (SUI), May 19, 2004 – FINA has decided in agreement with IOC and ATHOC to re-schedule the start of the swimming finals of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games at 19:30 (instead of 19:00) as requested by AOB, the Athens Olympic Broadcaster and the Olympic TV Right Holders in order to provide the best possible conditions for the TV coverage and the operations.

Ireland will host its first major international swimming event next month when the 2003 European Short Course Swimming Championships are staged at the National Aquatic Centre from December 11th to 14th. The European Championships, hosted by Swim Ireland, were secured for Dublin with the support of Fáilte Ireland (Irish Tourism Authority) and through International Sports Tourism Initiative.
