PepsiCo cements Warriors sponsorship with arena deal
PepsiCo, the US food and beverage corporation, is expanding its relationship with North American basketball’s Golden State Warriors in a continuation of its long-running sponsorship deal.
Under the renewal, PepsiCo has become a founding sponsor of the current NBA champions' new Chase Center arena, which is being constructed in San Francisco and is due to open in 2019, as well as signing up to become exclusive snacks and non-alcoholic beverage provider of the team.
The deal covers PepsiCo’s vast portfolio of brands including LifeWtr, Aquafina, SunChips, Stacy’s Pita Chips, KeVita, Naked Juice, Pepsi Zero Sugar and Pure Leaf iced tea.
PepsiCo also retains selling, dispensing and serving rights at the Oracle Arena, the Warriors’ present home in Oakland, for the final two years before the team relocates.
In addition, PepsiCo will continue to have marketing rights to the Warriors brand including mobile, TV and digital assets as well as local media and retail promotional campaigns.
PepsiCo joins the $1-billion arena’s line-up of founding sponsors, namely Chase, the financial services company, Accenture, the professional services company, and United Airlines, the USA-based airline.
