WTF extends bid deadline for future taekwondo major events
The World Taekwondo Federation, the sport’s international governing body, has announced that it has extended the bid deadline for prospective countries hoping to host its major events between 2018 and 2020 to 14 April.
Interested parties now have until that date to register bids for the events, which includes the World Taekwondo Junior Championships, World Taekwondo Grand-Prix Final and World Taekwondo Team Championships in 2018; the World Para Taekwondo Championships, World Taekwondo Grand-Prix and World Taekwondo Grand-Prix Series in 2019; and the World Taekwondo Junior Championships, World Taekwondo Grand-Prix Final and World Taekwondo Team Championships in 2020.
The previous deadlines for the events was 17 March.
Host cities must submit bid files by 19 May, with the successful ones to be selected at the World Taekwondo Championships in Muju, South Korea on 22 June.
