ESA appoints new general manager
Karen Fan joins from Repucom, with over 20 years’ sponsorship and brand experience
The European Sponsorship Association (ESA), the membership body that raises standards within the sponsorship profession, is pleased to announce that Karen Fan has been appointed to the position of General Manager. Reporting into ESA Chairman Karen Earl and the rest of the ESA Board, Fan joins the organisation from world-renowned research organisation, Repucom, where she held the position of Research Director.
As a seasoned market research specialist, and a full member of the Market Research Society, Fan has over 20 years’ experience working with brands and sponsors and has worked with many of the leading proponents within sponsorship, including City Football Group and Jaguar Land Rover. She has also been involved in delivering research and compliance monitoring for some of the most iconic worldwide sporting events, including the Olympic Games, the Volvo Ocean Race and the FIFA World Cup.
“Being given the opportunity to work with the Board, and the rest of the ESA team, in order to lead the organisation into the second half of 2016 and beyond is a privilege” said Fan.
“I’m very much looking forward to continuing, and expanding upon, the great work that ESA has been a part of in recent times, and I’ll be making it my priority to ensure that we continue to deliver a great return to our members, helping to steer the industry through an ever-changing sponsorship and engagement marketing landscape”.
